Rajinikanth is currently fresh off the success of Jailer. The 2023 film from Nelson Dilipkumar has turned out to be a huge commercial success, earning more than Rs 600 crore at the global box office. However, more awaits Rajinikanth's fans. After the much-teased project between him and Lokesh Kanagaraj was announced, fans are wondering when will Thalaivar 171 go on floors.

Rajinikanth commits himself to Lokesh Kanagaraj’s next

Previously, it was revealed that Rajinikanth and the Vikram director will be gearing up for a film together. Now, Rajinikanth himself gave an update on the same during an interaction with the media. After being asked about Thalaivar 171, Rajinikanth said that the film will be coming out well but currently it’s time to wait and watch.

He also said that he is currently working on his film with filmmaker TJ Gnanavel, tentatively titled Thalaivar 170. After the work on it is done, Rajinikanth will start working on his film with Lokesh Kanagaraj.

What’s next for Lokesh Kanagaraj?

Lokesh Kanagaraj is currently gearing up for his next release, Thalapathy Vijay's Leo. The third installment in the Lokesh Cinematic Universe after Kaithi (2019) and Vikram (2022), Leo will also feature actor Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt in his Tamil debut as Antony Das. Other actors such as Arjun Sarja and Mysskin will also be featured in the upcoming actioner. Leo will hit the theatres on October 19.
