Talking about why he quit acting, he explained that he got bored of the monotonous process and repeated the same thing again and again. He further added, “Like how you have problems in a relationship after a few years, I had the same relationship issue with my career. I realised if I was bored with it, naturally, the audience would also get bored. That’s why I decided to do something else.”
After quitting acting, Abbas worked at petrol pump, construction site
His plans were to start a business there, which his wife would handle. In the meantime, he thought that even if he had to drive a cab, he would be able to sustain himself. So from working at a petrol pump to working at a construction site, he did it all. He said, “I would not use the toilet that was at the construction site. I would instead go to a gas station, buy something, and use the restroom there. People there would wonder if they had seen me somewhere. I would be like, ‘Yes, I keep getting that.’
It has been a nine year hiatus for him and the actor desires to act again. And thus, he has moved back to India. The last film he acted in was Malayalam film Pachakkallam in 2015 and a Tamil film Ramanujan.
