Selena Gomez, Miley Cyrus give shout-out to each other for releasing music on the same day

Disney stars Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus are coming out with new music on August 25. While the Only Murders in the Building actor is dropping a single titled Single Soon, Miley will release her track Used to Be Young. Ahead of it, the two pop artists gave a shout-out to each other on their social media handles on Saturday.

Selena posted a screenshot from a scene where she played Mikayla Skeech on an episode of Miley's popular television show Hannah Montana. In the episode, the teens got into a comically catty argument while taking calls for a telethon. Selena pulled Miley over as they were seated next to one another to make some funny jokes.

In the caption she wrote, “@mileycyrus and I both have a SINGLE SOON and we are releasing on the same day. We have been friends since we USED TO BE YOUNG. Excited for August 25th!”

Miley took to X and quoted the same video with the caption, “@selenagomez and I are both dropping our new SINGLEs SOON…..I SAY WE #USEDTOBEYOUNG."

History of Selena Gomez-Miley Cyrus

Selena and Miley frequently ran into one another when they were Disney Channel stars in their early years. Both the stars dated fellow former Disney actor Nick Jonas during their time on the network and allegedly got into a fight. 

While the Wolves singer and Nick had a brief romance in 2008, Miley and the Sucker crooner dated from 2006 to 2007. Since then, both of them have addressed the alleged controversy and clarified that there is no feud involving Nick.
