Anupama Parameswaran Reveals She Faced 'Narcissistic Abuse For 2 Years In A Relationship' Amid Rumours Of Dating Dhruv Vikram

Anupama Parameswaran has been in the news after she shared a post on her social media handle last month about letting go of the "dead ends to find peace," hinting that she has parted ways with rumoured boyfriend Dhruv Vikram. After much speculation around her personal life, the actress has finally opened up about her post and shared that she has broken up. The actress further revealed that she faced "narcissistic abuse" for two years.

Anupama Parameswaran opens up about her breakup

In an interview with I Am with Dhanya Varma, Anupama shared what prompted her to share that post and revealed the pain she went through for two years. "There are 2 set of people. One which said that oh she is healing. Which is great, that I am finally healing and finding peace in life. Obviously the other side where they said random stuff. That post did not come overnight. There was so much behind that post… There is two years of pain, physical, emotional destruction, behind that one post. I did not want to post some random picture… I wanted to post something when I was ready, when I actually heal. There was a journey of a girl who identified something really big about herself and life, and who took her time to heal and voice something so important," she wrote.

Without naming the person, Anupama further shared about her toxic relationship and how people around her noticed a change in her behaviour. "I have gone through narcissistic abuse for two years. I can imagine a few categories of people now. First, people like me, when I first saw Madonna Sebastian talking about narcissistic abuse in a reel on Instagram, and my reaction to that was so physical that I started shivering. The first category who know who have suffered, the family and friends who have seen someone suffer. The second category who have no idea about it. They must have heard the term but they did not have to research about it, and the third one who would called it gender-based, and post negative comments based on assumptions. The next category is to who I want to talk to, those who have been there and haven't identified it yet. That is the most dangerous category.”

Instead of blooming, she was shrinking and rejected good offers coming her way. Opening up about how her relationship affected her career, she said, "Dragon was the biggest success of my career. Why didn't I attend its promotions? I turned down many films. He started controlling everything, not just my work but every aspect of my life."

Rumours have been rife that Anupama and Dhruv dated for two years before parting ways. They started dating while shooting for Bison Kaalamaadan. The rumours intensified when an unverified picture of her kissing as the display picture of their shared Spotify playlist went viral.

This year, Anupama blushed when Dhruv wished her a Happy Birthday at the Chennai Awards Show. She even re-shared a selfie from another award show in Mumbai. However, the two stopped name-dropping each other, hinting that they have broken up.
