DC Box Office Collection Day 1 (Early Estimates): Lokesh Kanagaraj-Wamiqa Gabbi Starrer Makes Promising Start

DC Box Office Collection: Lokesh Kanagaraj and Wamiqa Gabbi's starrer opened to positive reviews, with many lauding the performance of both the actors. While it is high on violence and bloodshed, the movie buffs enjoyed it thoroughly. The positive word of mouth is helping the movie's business.

According to Sacnilk, the film has collected ₹75 lakh since morning, with Tamil leading the chart (₹53 lakh), and the Telugu version has so far earned ₹22 lakh. The movie is currently running across 994 shows and brings the gross collections to ₹88 lakh in India.

In the morning, DC registered 32.62 per cent overall Tamil occupancy, with maximum reported in Puducherry (80 per cent).

The collection is likely to increase, owing to positive word of mouth and might perform well at the box office despite being Lokesh's debut film.

What is the plot of DC?

Lokesh plays Devadas, a man with a violent past who finds himself on the run from the police after a police officer is killed. As authorities hunt for the murderer, Devadas also becomes entangled in a separate case involving stolen weapons, with both investigations eventually converging. Amid the chaos, Devadas shares a complicated relationship with Chandra. As betrayal, sacrifice and danger threaten their lives, the two are forced to rely on one another in a desperate fight for survival.

Helmed by director Arun Matheswaran, the music of the film is composed by Anirudh Ravichander. Apart from Lokesh and Wamiqa, the film also stars Sanjana Krishnamoorthy, Kasthuri Raja and Avinash Raghudevan in pivotal roles. Produced by Kalanithi Maran's Sun Pictures, the film is loosely adapted from the novel Devdas (1917).
