Big Comment/ Ankit Gupta breaks silence on Junooniyatt going off air within a year: Feel there are poorer shows…

Ankit Gupta is currently starring in the Colors TV show Junooniyatt, which is scheduled to go off-air soon. The series, also starring Neha Rana and Gautam Vig, will premiere its last episode on November 3. In a recent interview, the actor opened up on his reaction to the wrap-up of the show. 

Ankit Gupta on Junooniyatt closure 

In a conversation with Pinkvilla, Ankit was asked about his thoughts on Junooniyatt's closure. The actor said he feels like there are poorer shows out there on the channel, which were performing worse than Junooniyatt on the TRP charts but they are still on. He said, “I think Junooniyatt was doing quite well. We had 1.3 TRP the last week, which makes the show number 2 or number 3 among all the shows on Colors. I feel there are poorer shows on the channel that are still on-air. But abhi kya bol sakte hai (what can one say).” 

Ankit added that ultimately it was the channel’s decision to end the show and they have to respect it. “The decision has been taken by the channel and I'm sure there might be some internal discussion about the same before pulling the plug on the show. We have to respect the decision taken by the channel," added the actor. 

What is Junooniyatt about? 

Junooniyatt initially narrated the story of three singers and musicians, each with their own goals in mind, who competed in a music competition. Elahi (Neha Rana) wanted to discover her mother, while Jahaan (Ankit Gupta) wanted to win back the respect his parents had lost in his country. In order to satisfy his father, Jordan (Gautam Vig) desired to win the music competition. 

But as time went on, the narrative changed into a triangle of love, with Jordan and Elahi being married and having a toxic relationship. Jordan attempted to kill Elahi after their divorce.
