Vishwak Sen kicked up quite a storm with his controversial post made in relation to his upcoming Telugu release Gangs of Godavari. Though the post is long gone, the controversy still persists with no clarity being available regarding the release date of the film. Producer Naga Vamsi, who managed to diffuse the situation with the actor, has now also broken his silence on the situation.

Naga Vamsi comments on the Gangs of Godavari-Vishwak Sen controversy

In a recent media interaction, Naga Vamsi's first response to the situation was to directly ask the actor what his concerns were. However, Vamsi soon went onto clarify that the real reason behind considering a postponement of the film's release - initially slated to be December 8 - was simply due to the film not being completed. A song sequence followed by a few shots are still left to be filmed, as per Vamsi.

The producer also revealed that initially, only Varun Tej's Operation Valentine was slated to release on December 8. However, over time, Nani's Hi Nanna and Nithiin's Extra Ordinary Man have also picked early December release dates in a bid to avoid clashing with Prabhas' Salaar. This could have led Vishwak Sen to believe a postponement was on the cards for Gangs of Godavari, leading to the actor's extreme reaction. However, Vamsi asserted that if the film and its content is good, it is sure to perform well at the box office, irrespective of competition.

What was the controversy about?

Earlier last month, Vishwak Sen took to his Instagram handle to share a strongly worded note warning producers that he would refuse to promote Gangs of Godavari if the release date was postponed.

Naga Vamsi had to personally intervene to have the actor take down the post.
