Mahesh Babu, Sreeleela starrer Trivikram Srinivas film Guntur Kaaram locks date for trailer release?

Mahesh Babu is currently inching closer to the release of his next big banner project, Guntur Kaaram. Incidentally, the actor has been on a mini hiatus of sorts from the silver screen this year, his last theatrical release having been 2022 Parasuram helmed action drama, Sarkaru Vaari Paata. With the film slated for an early January release, the makers of the film have reportedly locked in a date to release the trailer.

Guntur Kaaram makers set trailer release date?

For the unversed, Guntur Kaaram will be releasing in theatres on January 12, 2024. As per a 123Telugu report, the makers of the film have picked New Years - January 1, to release the trailer of the film. Releasing trailers close to the film's release date is a trend that is catching on in the industry which evidently maintains an air of mystery around the project. Up until now, Guntur Kaaram's title glimpse followed by two songs - Dum Masala and Oh My Baby.

Guntur Kaaram also marks Mahesh Babu's third collaboration with director Trivikram Srinivas. The actor-director duo have previously collaborated on 2005 film Athadu followed by 2010 film Khaleja. Guntur Kaaram then marks their on screen reunion after a period of 13 years.

Guntur Kaaram finds itself in the midst of a simmering controversy

Guntur Kaaram's second single, Oh My Baby, was met with a largely negative response from the audience. Producer Naga Vamsi chose to address the situation by using a clip from Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Animal which involves the usage of an inappropriate gesture.

This move generated immense criticism which led Vamsi to pacify the audience with an elaborate X post explaining how they must wait for the complete cut of the film. The abrasive initial response in question, has now been deleted by the producer.
