Pushpa 2 Trailer: Multiple Delays To Allu Arjun-Sukumar Rift, A Timeline Of Pushpa The Rule Making

Pushpa 2 The Rule Trailer: After much wait, the trailer of Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil starrer pan-India film is all set to be unveiled at the Gandhi Maidan in Patna. After the historic success of the first installment in 2021, which also had a significant impact on pop culture, the second installment in the crime saga will be released on December 5. All eyes are now on how the trailer has turned out to be.

However, the road to making the movie has been riddled with hurdles. Here's the complete timeline of what transpired since the announcement of the movie over two years back.

August 2022

Pushpa 2 begins with a puja ceremony. The makers and director Sukumar shared that filming on the project would begin soon.

January 2023

On January 21, Pushpa 2 shoot began with an eye on release later in the same year. The filming kicked-off in Vizag with the Icon Star and director Sukumar on set. Allu Arjun received a grand welcome on location. This marked the beginning of the next chapter in the Pushpa franchise.  

April 2023

Ahead of Allu Arjun's birthday, a special clip titled Where is Pushpa? was released by the makers stoking fan anticipation. A poster of the actor in Jaathara look was also unveiled.

September 2023

Allu Arjun's new poster was unveiled and the release date of the movie was confirmed to be August 15, 2024. In the meantime, reports started to circulate that it will clash with Ajay Devgn's Singham Again on the Independence Day weekend.

December 2023

Reports surfaced that due to Allu Arjun's "ill-health", the shoot of the movie was impacted and it may be postponed to a later date from its originally planned release of August 15, 2024. According to sources, during the shooting of the song Jaathara, where Allu Arjun's character appears in a fully feminine makeover, he underwent intense practice sessions, and dance rehearsals, leaving him fatigued and affecting his health.

February 2024

Allu Arjun shared at the Berlin European Film Market that Pushpa 2 has a "huge canvas" and that fans can certainly expect a third film in the series. The same was confirmed by one of the film producers in a media interaction in October. "If Pushpa 2 meets the same level of love from the audience, we're ready to move forward with Pushpa 3," Ravi Shankar said.

April 2024

The first teaser of Pushpa: The Rule was launched on Allu Arjun's birthday on April 8. The actor sported the Jaathara look in it, which went viral.

June 2024

Allu Arjun and team's Pushpa 2 was not completed for its Independence Day release and was pushed to a later date. Fans were left disappointed by the news but found solace in the fact that the movie could very well hit the big screens before year-end. The film was locked for a December 6 release.

July 2024

It was reported that the delay in the film's release was due to an alleged tiff between director Sukumar and Allu Arjun. The shoot was then reportedly put on hold.

August 2024

Amid tiff rumours, the shoot of Pushpa 2 restarted at Ramoji Film City. Late in August end, Allu Arjun ended rift reports with Sukumar by making a joint appearance at the pre-release event of Maruthi Nagar Subramanyam. They excited the audiences with the camaraderie and ascertained that the movie was on track to release in December.

September 2024

It was reported that Rashmika Mandanna shot for Pushpa 2 despite an injury. Reports surfaced that the movie might be delayed again.

October 2024

Makers shared that the first half of the film is "locked and loaded".

November 2024

Reportedly, the team of Pushpa 2 was unhappy with composer Devi Sri Prasad's working on the music of the film at a snail's pace while prioritising his concert shows. It was clarified that Thaman and other noted music directors would contribute to the BGM of this highly awaited pan-India project. During the teaser launch event for Daku Maharaj, Thaman confirmed his involvement, shedding light on the collaborative effort for Pushpa 2.

Later, Sreeleela began shooting for the special song, revealed to be titled Kissik. As per reports, Shraddha Kapoor emerged as a top contender for the item number in Pushpa: The Rule, but the high fees she demanded post the success of Stree 2 led the makers to zero in on another actress. Sreeleela, whose name was associated with the pan-India film already, bagged the role eventually.

Pushpa 2 all set for the trailer reveal

After many roadblocks, the Pushpa 2 trailer is finally set to launch at the Gandhi Maidan in Patna. 

The grand event will begin from 5 pm onwards and the trailer will drop at 6.03 pm on YouTube and other digital platforms.
