₹3.2 lakh challan in 11 months: Bengaluru police on look out for this scooty rider without helmet
A scooty driver's challan worth Rupees 3.2 lakh in eleven months has made the Bengaluru police take note of the person. The cops are now on the search for ride
Bengaluru: The traffic cops in Bengaluru were in for a rude surprise as they found out that a vehicle bearing a registration number KA04KF9072 was involved in 643 traffic offences for a period of 11 months from January 2023 to December 16, 2023 and had a pending fine of Rs 3,22,500. The vehicle belongs to one Mala but the traffic cops have neither been able to apprehend Mala nor the vehicle. Over 60% of the traffic violations have been committed at the RT Nagar Taralabalu junction which has been caught on the HTMS camera.
All the traffic violations on this vehicle is for not wearing helmet which has become a cause of concern for the cops. The rider of the two wheeler is also seen travelling with a pillion rider without helmet, which has become a problem as the rider is endangering not only his and the pillion's life but also fellow motorists on the road. A senior police official speaking on the condition of anonymity to Republic said that "we have captured the face of the rider along with the pillion but for the past few days we have not been able to trace the vehicle neither the rider. We got to know about the massive fine after we checked the vehicle for repeated violations. Such defaulters will not be spared and stringent action will be taken. We will also issue notice to the rider against whose name the vehicle.isnregistered to and will send it to their house address from the data base."

The police authorities have noted that every time the rider has stepped out of his house without wearing a helmet the violation has been captured on camera. The vehicle belongs to one Mala which was registered in 2021 September and the insurance is valid till 2026. The cops are on to find the rider and the vehicle.
