As Students, We Never Thought We'd See A Single Day Without Bomb Blasts, Firing In Assam: CM Himanta

New Delhi: Chief Minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma said as a student, he never thought he would see a single day without bomb blasts and firing in Assam. 

Sarma said the same while speaking at the Republic Plenary Summit 2025 at Bharat Mandapam on Thursday.

While highlighting the vision of a 'Limitless India,' Sarma asserted that the country needed a balanced development across all regions, particularly through the saturation model implemented by Prime Minister Narendra Modi .

Sama added that the model focussed on providing essential infrastructure such as electricity and roads to every village in India and also ensuring that no region is left behind.

Sarma said, “What PM Modi has done? He's created a model called saturation. Every village in Bharat must get electricity and have roads. This model will further boost the journey of 2047 (Viksit Bharat).”

Sarma said the idea is to create a competitive India where every state and district contributes equally, rather than development being concentrated in specific areas. He said by empowering every village, India can stand strong on the global stage and compete with countries like China in a tough but healthy manner, rather than attacking them.

Sarma said earlier, the mention of Assam suggested that with this model in place, states that previously required special attention or assistance will now have an equal footing with the rest of India.

He said, “ I think now Assam won't ask for special treatment because I have completed that journey. I am speaking to you as a proud Assamese that today, it's a level-playing field for us.”

The CM said it reflected a larger vision of holistic national progress, aiming for an India where every citizen and region has the opportunity to contribute to and benefit from the country’s growth.
