After repeatedly leading, trailing and reclaiming ground, RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav has finally regained the lead by 1,186 votes. The seat has seen constant fluctuations since morning, keeping both the RJD and NDA camps on edge as counting enters the decisive phases.

NDA continues its sweeping lead as top BJP and JD(U) candidates secure strong victories across key constituencies. Nitish Mishra (Jhanjharpur), Tarkishore Prasad (Katihar), Sanjay Saraogi (Darbhanga), and Raju Kumar Singh (Sahebganj) won with massive margins. Anant Kumar Singh, often known as 'Chhote Sarkar', won the Mokama constituency by a huge margin of 28,206 votes with polling a total of 91,416 votes. His rival, RJD’s Veena Devi lagged far behind with 63,210 votes, as per the Election Commission of India. The don-turned-politician was arrested just ahead of the Bihar Assembly polls in connection with the murder of Dularchand Yadav, a supporter of Prashant Kishor's Jan Suraaj party.

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and BJP candidate Samrat Choudhary is leading in Tarapur constituency with a massive margin of 27,282 votes with the total votes polled in his favour being 78,646. RJD's Arun Kumar is trailing far behind with 51,364 votes.

It has become increasingly clear that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), which is mainly the BJP and Janata Dal (United) duo, will win the people's mandate even as the results of assembly polls continue to come in. While Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad has been a two-time Chief Minister of Bihar, his sons Tejashwi Yadav and Tej Pratap Yadav are finding it difficult to hold their ground in the 2025 Assembly elections. As per the Election Commission trends of counting of votes in the Raghopur constituency, the Mahagathbandhan's CM face and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav was trailing by 4,829 votes, with counting done on 10 out of 30 rounds on the seat. Former MLA and BJP candidate Satish Kumar was seen leading in the seat. Tejashwi's estranged brother, Tej Pratap Yadav, who flouted his party Janshakti Janta Dal after his exit from RJD was seen trailing by a huge margin of 26,041 votes, gaining just 12,061 votes after 11 out of 26 rounds of counting in Mahua. Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas)'s Sanjay Kumar Singh was seen leading in the constituency as per ECI data. Tejashwi Yadav fielded Mukesh Kumar Raushan against his brother, but RJD is also trailing by 17,061 votes in Mahua. Among other prime faces in Bihar, Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha were seen leading on the Tarapur and Lakhisarai seats, respectively. After 15 rounds of counting in Tarapur, Choudhary is projected to win the seat with a huge lead of 19,426 votes against RJD's Arun Kumar. Vijay Kumar Sinha is leading with a margin of 13,350 votes in Lakhisarai, leaving Congress' Amaresh Kumar behind. Meanwhile, JD(U) candidate from Mokama and strongman leader, Anant Kumar Singh, is leading by 22,988 votes, closing in on a victory with 22/25 rounds of counting, despite arrest over the murder of Dularchand Yadav.

As the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) surged past the 200-seat mark in the latest trends of the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, the Janata Dal (United) on Friday highlighted the role of women voters in the mandate. The party said that the trust of Bihar's women has prevailed, the NDA has emerged victorious, and Bihar has emerged victorious. In a post on X, Janata Dal (United) shared, "The trust of Bihar's women has triumphed.. The NDA has triumphed, Bihar has triumphed..(Jeeta hai Bihar ki mahilao ka vishwaas... jeeta hai NDA, jeeta hai Bihar)." It's worth noting that Bihar recorded a historic 67.13% voter turnout, the highest since 1951, with women voters outpacing men (71.6% vs 62.8%).

The NDA, secured 206 seats in the 2010 elections, is once again poised to touch the same mark as it is currently leading at 203 seats with both BJP and JD(U) unanticipated performances.

Amid Congress' dismal performance in the Bihar elections, MP Digvijaya Singh on Friday urged the party to pay "special attention" to its organisation at the booth level, instead of public meetings. Sharing an X post, Digvijaya Singh also alleged electoral fraud, claiming that 62 lakh votes were cut, 20 lakh votes were added, out of which 5 lakh votes were cast without filling the enumeration form during the SIR exercise. He wrote, "What I suspected has come true. 62 lakh votes were cut, 20 lakh votes were added, out of which 5 lakh votes were cast without filling the SIR form. Most of the votes cut were from the poor, Dalits, and minority classes. On top of that, there remains suspicion over the EVM."

Once celebrated as "Sushashan Babu" for pulling Bihar out of the shadows of what was often termed the "jungle raj”, the Chief Minister has in recent years confronted signs of voter weariness and questions over his shifting political alignments.

As early leads of the Bihar Assembly election began firming up on Friday, Independent MP from Purnea, Pappu Yadav voiced disappointment over the emerging numbers, calling the indications "highly unfortunate for Bihar" while accepting the public decision. Yadav said, "We will have to accept this (early trends). This is highly unfortunate for Bihar. I can't say anything to the public, I just welcome their decision, but this is unfortunate for Bihar..."

The latest trends for the 243 Assembly Constituencies show the BJP leading with 90 seats, closely followed by the JD(U) with 80 seats, putting the NDA firmly in the lead. The RJD is leading in 29 seats, and the LIPRV in 20. In terms of vote share, the RJD holds the largest portion at 23.30%, just ahead of the BJP at 22.88%. The JD(U) secured 18.29% of the total votes. The gap between the NDA's seat tally and the RJD's individual vote share highlights a split mandate.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the BJP headquarters in New Delhi late on Friday evening and address the party workers, as the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is set for a landslide victory in Bihar where assembly elections were held in two phases on November 6 and 11. Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya on Friday said the results of the Bihar elections are looking very positive for the NDA. He called it "much better than expected" and said the opposition has no major issues to raise. As Congress and Mahagathbandhan trail behind in the counting of votes, Congress leader Pawan Khera on Friday called the Bihar Assembly elections a direct contest between Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and the people of Bihar. Khera took a jibe at CEC Kumar, saying he has an upper hand over the public in Bihar. He said, "These are just early trends, we're waiting a bit. The initial trends certainly suggest that Gyanesh Kumar is gaining an upper hand over the people of Bihar. I can't underestimate the people of Bihar. They have shown courage. They showed it despite the SIR and vote theft. The contest is directly between the Election Commission of India and the people of Bihar, and let's see who wins."

According to the latest Election Commission data, BJP is leading on 83 seats, closely followed by JDU on 79. However, Tejashwi Yadav's RJD slipped to 32 and the Congress stood at six leads. Mahagathbandhan's chief ministerial candidate Tejashwi Yadav is currently trailing from Raghopur constituency. Pollster-turned politician Prashant Kishor's three-year effort to reform Bihar politics through his Jan Suraaj Party has reportedly failed to yield initial electoral gains, with early trends showing zero leads as results for all 243 seats were released by the Election Commission. Despite the former poll strategist's promise of a new political alternative, the party has not translated its vision into measurable success. While some television channels briefly claimed Jan Suraaj was leading in up to four constituencies, including Bhojpuri actor Ritesh Pandey in Kargahar, these reported leads had all disappeared by 10.30 am, aligning with the Election Commission's official data.

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and BJP candidate for the Lakhisarai seat, Vijay Kumar Sinha, on Friday said that the public mandate predicted by the exit polls will translate into results in the Assembly elections. The majority of the exit polls predicted the National Democratic Alliance's (NDA) victory in Bihar. Sinha said, "The exit polls reflected the public mandate, what was anticipated is now turning into results. The trust shown by people in Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will give direction to the nation. Our result will be better than what the exit polls showed." According to the latest Election Commission data, NDA allies — Nitish Kumar's JD(U) and BJP — are leading with 82 and 76 seats, respectively, while Tejashwi Yadav's RJD slid to 37 seats in teh latest trends.

He claimed that many objections raised about discrepancies in the voter lists were ignored, calling it a "murder of democracy”, and said the results reflect the SIR process rather than a BJP-JD(U) victory. Udit Raj said, "SIR is leading. I won't say that this victory is of the BJP-JD(U); this is a victory of the Election Commission, of SIR. After the voter list was sanitised, lakhs of discrepancies were pointed out, but the EC didn't respond to even one. When objections were being raised, 89 lakh objections were raised. Still, EC said that nobody is raising any complaint. When they stoop to this level of cheating, what can we say? This is murder of democracy..."

RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav is leading from Raghopur with a margin of 893 votes after round 1/30 of counting. Named as the Opposition's Chief Ministerial candidate, Tejashwi on Friday said change will come and the Mahagathbandhan will form the government in Bihar. "It will be a people's victory. We are willing. Change will come. We are forming the government," Tejashwi told reporters as counting of votes was underway.

According to the data released by the Election Commission as counting for the Bihar Assembly election 2025 was underway, the RJD secured the largest party-wise vote share at 23.30%, closely followed by the BJP at 22.88%. The JD(U) held the third-largest share at 18.29%, while the INC followed with 7.58%. The remaining votes were distributed among several other parties and an "Other" category which accounted for 12.91%.

Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) candidate from Tikari assembly constituency Anil Kumar on Friday said he is confident that the party will win all six seats it contested and that Nitish Kumar will return as Chief Minister with a strong majority. Speaking to the reporters in Gaya ji, Anil Kumar said, "We will win the seats and Nitish Kumar will become the Chief Minister of Bihar with a heavy majority. HAM Party will win all 6 seats it contested. The margin of seats might increase..." As the counting of votes began for the Bihar Assembly elections on Friday, early trends show the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) past the halfway mark of 122, strengthening its lead over the Mahagathbandhan.

"It was evident from the faces of the public that NDA is getting a mandate this time. NDA is going to form the government again. The leaders of NDA have put in a lot of effort, whether it is Nitish Kumar, Chirag Paswan, Jitan Ram Manjhi, Upendra Kushwaha, PM Modi, JP Nadda, Home Minister Amit Shah or Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. We fought elections on the face of Nitish Kumar with the slogan '2025, phir se Nitish'," Jaiswal said. The Election Commission released early trends and results for the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 with JDU leading in 39 seats, BJP in 36, RJD in 23 and Congress in six. 

As the counting of votes began for the Bihar Assembly elections on Thursday, early trends show the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) past the halfway mark of 122, strengthening its lead over the Mahagathbandhan. JD(U) has maintained a high conversion rate of more than 68%, with the BJP at a 66% conversion rate. Mahagathbandhan was lagging behind. The RJD holds the highest conversion rate in the alliance of 36%. Meanwhile, Prashant Kishor's Jan Suraaj was leading on two seats.

Folk singer and BJP candidate Maithili Thakur is leading from Alinagar constituency, while RJD’s Binod Mishra is trailing by 999 votes.

JD(U) candidate and strongman Anant Singh has taken an early lead from the Mokama Assembly seat in Patna district as counting for the Bihar Assembly Election 2025 progresses. Anant Singh leads by 2,716 votes, RJD's Veena Singh and Jan Suraaj's Priyadarshi Piyush trail. Veena Devi is the wife of Surajbhan Singh, the long-time rival and fellow ‘bahubali’ of Anant Singh, adding further intensity to this high-profile battle. Known for his sharp attacks on CM Nitish Kumar, Choudhary has since emerged as a key face of the NDA in Bihar. His elevation to the Deputy CM’s post was seen as a move to consolidate support from his caste group. After assuming office, Choudhary struck a conciliatory note, saying only “visionary leadership” of Nitish Kumar, backed by Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre, can restore Bihar’s glory.

As the Janata Dal (United) gears up for a verdict in the Bihar Assembly elections, a poster dedicated to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar with the title of a “Tiger who still has the power (Tiger Abhi Zinda Hai)” was seen outside the CM's residence at 1 Anne Marg in Patna. The poster thanked all the religious communities for their support for the JD(U) in the polls. The poster reflects the desire of party workers to see Nitish Kumar become the Chief Minister of Bihar for the fourth time.

A similar poster was also put up in Patna, describing him as the "protector" of all the communities, including those on the margins of society. Meanwhile, security has also tightened outside the CM's residence as counting for votes began at 8 am.

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has extended the Model Code of Conduct in the Patna district till November 16, to maintain law and order, a statement by the District Administration said on Thursday.

District Magistrate, Patna, has issued prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023, until the termination of the Model Code of Conduct, implementing a complete ban on victory processions in the district.

As counting began for the Bihar elections today, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) quickly pulled ahead of the Mahagathbandhan. By 9 am, early trends showed the NDA leading in 117 constituencies, while the Mahagathbandhan was ahead in 58.

Within the NDA, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is leading in 49 seats and has recorded a conversion rate of 65%. The Janata Dal (United) leads on 50 seats and is currently showing a stronger conversion rate of nearly 69%.

Among Mahagathbandhan partners, the CPI (ML) is performing the best leading in seven seats. In comparison, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leads in 40 seats with a conversion rate of 37%. The Indian National Congress leads in 10 seats with a poor conversion rate of 20% having contested 60 seats.

By 9 am, Bihar Deputy Chief Ministers Vijay Sinha and Samrat Choudhary were leading from Lakhisarai and Tarapur, respectively. BJP leader Ram Kripal Yadav was ahead in Danapur.
