New Delhi: A firing incident targeting former Mokama MLA Anant Singh was reported on Wednesday evening in the Mokama area of Patna district. The attack, allegedly carried out by the Sonu-Monu gang, involved 60-70 rounds of gunfire aimed at Singh's convoy. Fortunately, the gangster-turned-politician escaped unharmed.
Singh was visiting Nauranga Jalalpur village when the attack occurred.
A former representative of the Mokama assembly seat, Singh faced disqualification in June 2022 following a conviction after an AK-47, ammunition, and grenades were recovered from his ancestral home.
The Mokama assembly seat is currently held by his wife, Neelam Devi, who won on an RJD ticket before switching allegiance to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar ’s JD(U).
