Myanmar witnessed the collapse of several buildings and bridges after a 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck central Myanmar.

Sagaing town was the epicenter of the earthquake. A video has surfaced showing a colonial-era bridge, the Old Sagaing Bridge, collapsing.

The bridge spanned the Irrawaddy River between the Mandalay and Sagaing regions and was built by the British during the colonial period.

Nearby provinces also experienced swaying due to the resonance of low-frequency seismic waves, but no major damage has been reported in Thailand. Meanwhile, in Myanmar, there are no immediate reports of casualties or significant destruction, though authorities are still assessing the situation.

The iconic Ava Bridge, connecting Myanmar’s Ava and Sagaing regions, completely collapsed.

Several videos of the damage have surfaced online.

Tremors were also felt in parts of India, including N Manipur and Meghalaya .
