Noida: A shocking case of domestic violence has surfaced where a 37-year-old man allegedly murdered his wife and two minor daughters for not wearing a burqa while going out. The wife and daughters were shot dead, and the husband buried the bodies within the confines of his own home. The incident occurred on December 10 in the Shamli district of Uttar Pradesh, in Ghari Daulat village, which remained hidden for nearly a week.

Shamli Superintendent of Police NP Singh said the accused husband, Mohommad Farooq, has been arrested, and a case of triple murder has been registered against him. The police have registered a case of triple murder against Farukh. The forensic teams were called to the site to recover the bodies and collect evidence. According to police and local reports, the suspect, Farukh, acted in a "fit of rage" following a dispute over his wife leaving the house without a burqa. Farukh claimed that he was struggling financially to support their five children, which led to frequent arguments when his wife asked for money.

According to police sources, the conflict intensified a month ago when Farukh’s wife left for her parents' home without a burqa, taking their youngest daughter with her. Farukh claimed that he was struggling financially to support their five children, which led to frequent arguments when his wife asked for money. After one such dispute, his wife left for her parents' home without a burqa, taking their youngest daughter with her. Upon their return, Farukh allegedly executed a pre-planned attack. He reportedly shot his wife and one daughter; when the youngest child woke up to the gunfire, he strangled her to death.

To conceal the crime, Farukh buried the three bodies in a nine-foot-deep pit dug inside his residence. He further attempted to mislead the locals and his own parents by claiming he had moved the three of them to a separate rented house. To ensure no physical evidence remained of the three of them, he burnt their clothing and personal belongings.

Speaking to the Republic, the mother of the accused described a strained relationship, noting that Farukh had been distant from his parents for some time. While his children occasionally visited their grandparents, the accused remained isolated from them. Farukh is currently in custody, and authorities have recovered the bodies for post-mortem examination, as the investigation is still underway.

The incident has drawn a sharp remark from Maulana Yasoob Abbas, General Secretary of the All India Shia Personal Law Board. Abbas stated that "there is no place for this in Islam," rejecting any attempt to link the violence to religious tradition. He demanded the strictest legal action, asserting that individuals responsible for such heinous acts “should be sentenced to death.”

The Maulana expressed concern over the societal impact of the crime, noting that “Islam has been defamed by people like these.”The case is currently being handled by the Shamli police, who are investigating the timeline of the murders and the subsequent attempt to conceal the bodies.
