The strict 24-hour deadline was issued after Abhishek Banerjee skipped his previous two summonses. He had requested a postponement until an appeal before the Calcutta High Court—scheduled to be heard on June 10—is judicially resolved, but the agency proceeded with the directive.

An eight-member CID team, including female personnel, originally reached Abhishek Banerjee's Kalighat residence around 4:40 PM on Monday, hours after he missed his second noon deadline to attend an INDIA bloc meeting in New Delhi. The officers waited outside the closed gates before video-recording the formal service of the notice.
