Three held in attempt to murder case in Uttar Pradesh

Three men, including the district president of Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU), were arrested here in connection with an attempt to murder case, police said on Friday.

BKU district president Balram Thakur, Sonu and Amit Sharma had beaten up and opened fire on Vipul Sharma over an old enmity issue in Patel Nagar area here on Thursday, they said, adding Vipul survived the attack.

Following the incident, police rushed to the spot and arrested the three accused, they said.

A case has been registered and investigation taken up, police said.
