'Facts and Logic Leave No Room for Storm': PM Modi Addresses Nation as Monsoon Session Kicks Off

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday called for constructive and productive proceedings in Parliament as the Monsoon Session commenced, asserting that debates grounded in facts and logic leave no room for disruption.

"I am firmly convinced that where there are facts and logic, there is no room for a storm," the prime minister said.

Addressing the nation from outside Hans Dwar ahead of the session, PM Modi also drew a parallel between the rainy season and Parliament's Monsoon Session, calling for proactive and productive proceedings.

"Be it the monsoon or the monsoon session, if both are proactive, they prove to be highly productive. And when both are productive, it leads to the welfare of the nation and the well-being of all living beings," he added.

Further, highlighting the collective experience, he added, "A positive spirit is essential for achieving the nation's goals. Our House has very experienced Members of Parliament. Regardless of their party affiliation, they possess a wealth of experience."

PM Modi said both Parliament and the country needed to benefit from the experience and knowledge of its elected representatives.

"Therefore, the functioning of Parliament, meaningful discussions, and a collective resolve to take the nation forward are, I believe, the need of the hour. The youth of the country, brimming with aspirations, demand that we move forward," he said.

PM Modi Hails Youth Power Behind Skyroot's Launch Success

PM Modi also highlighted what he described as a series of major achievements recorded by India over the past month, saying they had given citizens several reasons to feel proud.

"In just one month, the nation has achieved numerous milestones, a series of accomplishments that fill every citizen with pride. Be it on the national stage, the international arena, or now, even in space, these have truly been moments of pride for India," he said.

PM Modi recalled that ahead of the previous year's Monsoon Session, an Indian citizen had reached the International Space Station before turning his attention to the recent success of private space startup Skyroot.

Highlighting the role of young Indians in the country's expanding private space sector, PM Modi said the success demonstrated the scale of their ambitions.

"Just the other day, a young Indian startup achieved a monumental feat. Few countries in the world have witnessed such private enterprise; India's youth have embarked on a new journey into space. It is a tremendous success," he said.

Referring to the young team behind Skyroot, the Prime Minister added, "I was told that the average age of the entire team working at the 'Skyroot' startup is merely 28 years. Young people like these have accomplished this feat. I am not speaking of a 56-year-old youth."

PM Modi said India's growing recognition globally was a reflection of the country's rising capabilities.

"India's global profile is gaining universal recognition and acceptance. This is no coincidence; it is a message, a powerful message that the potential and aspirations of our country's youth are as boundless as space itself," he said.

25-Day Monsoon Session Begins

The Monsoon Session of Parliament commenced on Monday, beginning a 25-day sitting expected to witness intense debates across both Houses.

The government has lined up several legislative proposals for consideration during the session, including the proposed Prevention of Insults to National Honour (Amendment) Bill, 2026, the Income-tax (Amendment) Bill, 2026, the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development (Amendment) Bill, 2026, and the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment Bill.

Another proposed piece of legislation, the Supreme Court (Number of Judges) Amendment Bill, 2026, seeks to increase the sanctioned strength of judges in the apex court from 33 to 37 to address the mounting pendency of cases.

Meanwhile, the Opposition is expected to raise several issues during the session, setting the stage for heated exchanges with the government. Against this backdrop, PM Modi's opening remarks focused on the need for a proactive and productive Parliament as the Monsoon Session gets underway.
