IKEA Comes to Delhi-NCR: Online Shopping Now Available in 10 Indian Cities – Here's How to Shop
IKEA has expanded its presence to Delhi-NCR and nine satellite cities across North India – here's how to shop from the furniture giant.
New Delhi: In a highly anticipated move, Swedish furniture brand IKEA has expanded its presence to Delhi-NCR and nine satellite cities across North India, including Agra, Prayagraj (Allahabad), Amritsar, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Kanpur, Lucknow, Ludhiana, and Varanasi, starting March 1, 2025.
This launch follows the opening of a new distribution center in Gurugram, which will enable same-day deliveries in the region.
According to an IKEA spokesperson, the company will deploy 50 electric vehicles in Delhi-NCR for online deliveries.
IKEA in Delhi-NCR
IKEA will follow its hybrid omni-channel model, starting with online sales before launching physical stores.
Although the Swedish furniture giant has been in the Indian market for 7 years, its delivery services were previously limited to five states: Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra , Telangana, and Gujarat.
A new Gurugram center is set to launch in 2026, followed by a Noida center in 2028. Construction for the Noida store began in September 2024, with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath laying the foundation stone.
In contrast to the Mumbai market, where multifunctional products are given priority due to space constraints, Delhi features larger living rooms, kitchens, and gardens. This will be reflected in IKEA's North Indian collection.
IKEA has garnered 1 lakh members from Delhi-NCR for its loyalty program, roughly 4 percent of its 27 lakh loyalty members in India.
IKEA's first fully outsourced Central Distribution Centre (CDC) in Gurugram, Delhi-NCR, spans 180,000 square feet. Located in Farrukh Nagar, it has been developed in collaboration with global logistics provider Rhenus.
