3 Ways How Merchant Navy Officer's Wife and Her Lover Covered-Up the Murder

Merchant Navy officer Saurabh Rastogi, was sleeping peacefully in his home in Uttar Pradesh's Meerut city when he was stabbed to death by his wife Muskan Rastogi and her boyfriend, Sahil Shukla. 

After killing Saurabh Rastogi, his wife and her lover moved his body to the bathroom where the boyfriend cut it into small pieces. The two accused then placed the pieces of the Merchant Navy officer's body in a large plastic drum and filled it with cement, to cover-up the murder and conceal the crime. 

Muskan Rastogi, the wife of the Merchant Navy officer killed in Meerut, also managed to keep the crime hidden, divert the attention of the cops and mislead the family members, friends and acquaintances. After committing the crime and hiding the remains of her dead husband, she locked the house and went to Shimla-Manali for a holiday, with her boyfriend. She told her neighbours and family members that she was on a trip to Himachal Pradesh with her husband, Saurabh.

During her three-day trip to the mountains with her ‘husband’, she kept uploading photographs and videos on Instagram from Saurabh's phone, so that everything seems normal and no suspicion is raised.

Merchant Navy Officer Murder: How Did Muskan Rastogi and Her Lover Get Caught?

Despite several attempts, Muskan Rastogi and her boyfriend Sahil Shukla got caught for the murder of the former's husband. The truth came to light on March 18 when Saurabh’s younger brother, Rahul, went to his house in Indranagar Second, Brahmpuri in Meerut. 

There, he found Muskan with Sahil, which raised suspicions. This discovery ultimately led to the revelation of the horrific murder and how she tried to conceal his dismembered body, exposing Muskan's deceit and cold-bloodedness.

Meerut Murder: 2 Accused Arrested, Investigation Underway

According to the investigation so far, the main reason behind the murder of the Merchant Navy officer is the illicit relationship between Muskan and her boyfriend Sahil Shukla. All findings point towards the extramarital affair being the cause of the gruesome murder, the exact cause is yet to be ascertained.

The Meerut SP has confirmed that the deceased Merchant Navy officer's wife and her lover have been arrested and further probe including questioning is underway. The house's landlord and other tenants from the building are also being questioned. Saurabh Rastogi's family and friends are mourning the loss of the Merchant Navy officer and the entire city is in a state of shock.
