New Delhi: In one of the biggest anti-terror crackdowns post Operation Sindoor, the Jammu & Kashmir Police and Faridabad Police have busted a major Jaish-backed terror module, recovering assault rifles, pistols and 14 bags of ammonium nitrate weighing more than 350 kg during a coordinated 15-day operation across multiple states.
Officials confirmed that the recovery includes one AK-47 rifle, two Russian-made assault rifles, a pistol and 84 rounds of live ammunition — all seized from a rented room in Faridabad, taken three months ago by the accused.
15-Day Joint Operation & Major Recoveries
The operation began after the arrest of Dr Adil Ahmad Rather, a resident of Qazigund and a doctor at Government Medical College, Anantnag, from whose locker an AK-47 rifle was earlier recovered.
His interrogation led police to other suspects, including Dr Muzammil, a senior doctor at Al-Falah Medical College, Faridabad, and Dr Shaheen Shahid, who has been taken into custody. Another suspect, Dr Umar Mohammad, remains absconding.
Based on their disclosures, searches were carried out in Faridabad and Saharanpur, leading to the recovery of explosive materials, chemical substances and weapons. The police clarified that the substance seized was ammonium nitrate, not RDX, as initially suspected.
Pakistan & Jaish Links Exposed
Investigations have revealed that Dr Adil was allegedly a Jaish handler in touch with Pakistan’s ISI, coordinating local logistics and recruitment.
The module was reportedly planning three major attacks across Delhi-NCR and western India using the seized explosives and weapons.
Sources indicate that the group was also working in coordination with Ansar Ghazwa-ul-Hind (AGH), an Al Qaeda affiliate active in South Kashmir.
The seized communication devices reportedly carried encrypted chats with Pakistan-based handlers, confirming cross-border coordination.
Biggest Crackdown Post Op Sindoor
As part of the continuing crackdown on terror networks, the J&K Police on Monday launched a fresh series of raids, marking the biggest post-Op Sindoor operation yet.
According to top police sources, 16 properties were raided across South Kashmir, 10 people were questioned, 23 locations linked to OGWs (Over Ground Workers) were searched, 11 SIM vendors were raided for issuing unverified mobile connections and 28 areas were cordoned off during the simultaneous operation.
A senior police officer said, “This is a focused, intensified crackdown against the terror ecosystem. The objective is to dismantle every link, from overground operatives to local recruiters.”
Expanded Probe Across States
The operation has now spread to Pulwama, where searches are underway based on leads from the Faridabad arrests.
Inputs also indicate a larger network operating out of Saharanpur and Ahmedabad, where caches of explosives and chemical substances have been detected, forming what officials call a “mini war stash” across three cities.
Videos Of UP RSS Office, Delhi Azad Mandi Sent To Pak
As per ATS DIG Sunil Joshi, two terrorists from Uttar Pradesh had recorded and sent spot videos and photographs to their handlers in Pakistan.
These included reconnaissance footage of: An RSS office in Uttar Pradesh, Azad Mandi in Delhi and Naroda Fruit Market in Ahmedabad.
Officials believe these were intended targets for coordinated strikes, now successfully averted by the joint crackdown.
Crackdown Continues
The police confirm that the investigation is underway and that the joint operation has thwarted a massive terror build-up aimed at Delhi-NCR.
The bust has prevented at least three major attacks, with further raids planned across multiple states in the coming days.
