'Keep Bharat As Bharat, It's A Proper Noun': RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat Calls For Preserving Nation's Cultural Heritage
RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat calls for preserving Bharat's identity, saying Bharat is Bharat and should not be translated.
Kochi: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Chief Mohan Bhagwat put his thoughts on the significance of preserving Bharat's identity and cultural heritage on Sunday in Kochi. He clearly asserted that Bharat is a proper noun and that it should not be translated. Speaking in Kochi, Mohan Bhagwat stated that Bharat's essence should be maintained in all forms of communication.
RSS Chief Bhagwat on Sunday explained that the country's identity is deeply rooted in its name, Bharat, and that it is essential to preserve this identity to garner respect and security in the world. "Bharat is Bharat, and that is why, while writing and speaking, we should keep Bharat as Bharat," he said, adding that the importance of consistency in using the country's name.
The RSS chief further elaborated that the identity of Bharat is respected because it is Bharat, and losing this identity would lead to a loss of respect and security, regardless of other meritorious qualities. "If you lose your identity, whatever other meritorious qualities you may have, you will never be respected or secure in this world," Bhagwat warned.
He, however, stressed that calling Bharat also India is true, but India is not the translation of Bharat.
Addressing the people at the event in Kochi, Mohan Bhagwat, said, “Bharat is a proper noun. It should not be translated. 'India that is Bharat' is true. But Bharat is Bharat, and that is why, while writing and speaking, we should keep Bharat as Bharat.”
"Bharat must remain Bharat. The identity of Bharat is respected because it is Bharat. If you lose your identity, whatever other meritorious qualities you may have, you will never be respected or secure in this world. That is the thumb rule," he added.
Bhagwat also touched upon the importance of education, stating that one of its primary objectives is to enable individuals to stand on their own and support their families. "One small intention behind getting an education is to be able to stand on your own in your life and to be able to keep your family intact," he said, explaining the practical applications of education in everyday life.
