Manipur Violence Continues: Midnight Blast in West Imphal Kills One

Imphal - As the streak of violence continues in Manipur, a midnight blast occured in the capital city of Imphal on Thursday (May 14th, 2026) claiming the live of one individual. The explosion tore through the Singjamei Bazaar area around midnight, sparking immediate panic among local residents and shop owners in the Singjamei Police Station jurisdiction.
 

Early leads from the investigation suggest the individual killed in the blast may have been the one transporting the device. According to local sources, the man had pulled up to the spot on a motorbike just moments before the explosive detonated. While the site was quickly swarmed by security forces and cordoned off, the authorities are currently working to identity of the deceased and no groups have come forward to claim responsibility.
