Mathura: Barsana's Lathmar Holi celebrations is back with a bang, attracting devotees and tourists from all over the world to witness the traditional festivities. The unique festival, which reenacts Lord Krishna's legendary visit to Radha's village, symbolises love and playful mischief.

Men from Nandgaon arrived in Barsana, where local women playfully greeted them with stick attacks while the men tried to drench them in colors. This playful exchange is a hallmark of Lathmar Holi, showcasing the vibrant and joyous spirit of the festival.

Laddu Mar Holi
The celebrations kicked off on Friday with Laddu Mar Holi at the Shri Ladliji Maharaj temple in Barsana. Devotees joyously threw sweets at each other, marking the beginning of the festivities with a sweet and playful ritual.

Inauguration of Rangotsav 2025
This year, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated Rangotsav 2025 at Shri Radha Bihari Inter College in Barsana, Mathura. During the inauguration, Adityanath showered flower petals on the gathered crowd and offered prayers at the college. CM Yogi's visit shows the state's commitment to developing the region, highlighting ongoing development works worth 100 crores and the introduction of a ropeway facility for visitors.

Development and Revival
Adityanath spoke about the development activities carried out in Ayodhya and Prayagraj, stating that it was now the turn of Mathura and Vrindavan to witness revival efforts. He assured that the state government would spare no effort in developing the region, with a focus on cleaning up the Yamuna River and enhancing infrastructure.

Holi Greetings
Extending his greetings ahead of Holi, Adityanath highlighted the significance of the festival in uniting people. He mentioned the successful organisation of Mahakumbh in Prayagraj and the large number of visitors to Kashi during Mahashivratri, showing the unity and strength of Sanatan Dharma. He expressed pride in Uttar Pradesh being the birthplace of Lord Ram and Lord Krishna and reiterated the government's commitment to development under PM Modi's guidance.

As the Lathmar Holi celebrations continue, Barsana remains a vibrant and joyous hub of cultural and traditional festivities, drawing people from all over to world in the pool of colours.
