'My Phone Is Still Being Tapped, CID Tracking Me': Rajasthan Minister Kirodi Lal Meena Reiterates Allegations
Rajasthan Agriculture Minister Kirodi Lal Meena on Sunday once again claimed that his phone was still being tapped and that he was under surveillance by the CID
Jaipur: Rajasthan Agriculture Minister Kirodi Lal Meena on Sunday once again claimed that his phone was still being tapped and that he was under surveillance by the CID. Speaking at an event in Sanchore, he stated, "I am still saying my phone is being tapped and the CID is following me."
His statement came just days after Minister of State for Home Jawahar Singh Bedham dismissed the allegations in the Rajasthan Assembly, asserting that Meena’s phone had not been tapped.
Phone Tapping Allegations Resurface
Meena reiterated his long-standing claims, saying that government agencies had been monitoring him for years. "I received a notice (from the party). I told them that when I used to protest in the past, officers in the previous government would monitor me. They tracked where I was going, what I was doing, and which movement I was participating in. They used to tap my phone. I have always said that my phone is being tapped and there is a CID following me," he stated.
He further insisted that the same officials who had allegedly spied on him in the past were still holding their positions. "Those who used to tap my phone and follow me are still there. I never paid attention to it, but now it should stop," he added.
Acknowledging that he should have handled the matter differently within the party, Meena remarked, "Yes, I made a mistake. I should have raised the issue on the right platform of the Bharatiya Janata Party, but sometimes the situation gets tangled. So, I spoke up."
Allegations of Corruption in Jal Jeevan Mission
Apart from the surveillance claims, Meena also alleged large-scale corruption in the Jal Jeevan Mission under the previous government. "A huge scam took place in Jal Jeevan Mission. Work was given without any tender. I raised the issue, and as a result, some engineers were suspended, some officers were arrested, and a contractor was also arrested," he revealed.
Government and BJP Respond
The opposition Congress had earlier raised concerns over the phone tapping issue, prompting Minister of State for Home Jawahar Singh Bedham to deny the claims in the Rajasthan Assembly last week.
Responding to Meena’s latest statement, BJP spokesperson Laxmikant Bharadwaj reaffirmed the government’s stance. "The government has already clarified in the Assembly that no phone of any elected representative, including Kirodi Meena, is being tapped," he said.
