Nagpur Violence Updates: Section 144 Imposed As Violence Grips City Amid Aurangzeb Row

Nagpur Violence LIVE: Nagpur CP confirmed that the city is peaceful now and the situation is under control. The situation escalated following the spread of rumours. The police have detained several suspects who were involved in spreading rumours and those involved in violent acts. The police stated that both communities came face to face over a rumour, which was followed by stone pelting, arson and vandalism. The top cop also confirmed that no petrol bombs were used during the violence. Further investigation is underway. 

Nagpur Violence LIVE: Following the violence in Nagpur, Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis stated, Whatever has happened in Nagpur is condemnable, I am keeping an eye on the situation, The situation is in control as of now. I urge people to not to fall prey to any rumours, I have directed cops to take stringent actions against those who are responsible for this act. I warn all those who are trying to disturb peace in Nagpur. Nagpur is a peaceful place anyone disturbing the peace will not be tolerated.

Nagpur Violence LIVE: On the violence that gripped Nagpur, the city CP confirmed that the situation is totally under control and sufficient forces have been deployed in the violence-affected areas to ensure that law and order is maintained. He stated that the rumours on social media, which led to the violence, are being verified and suitable legal action will be taken. As per the top cop, the area has narrow lanes, which created difficulties for police entering the area. 

Nagpur Violence LIVE: The Nagpur police officials stated that over 20 people have been taken into custody so far and are being interrogated. The police are also analysing CCTV footage to identify those involved in violent acts. The police are also carrying out search at various places in search of suspects.

The police have ensured that the law and order are restored and those who are involved in the violent acts won't be spared.

Preserve the tradition of peace and harmony that Nagpur is known for.”

Cooperate with the law and order system. Preserve the tradition of peace and harmony that Nagpur is known for. I assure you all that the government will take action against those who have committed mistakes or engaged in illegal activities. The Chief Minister has already been informed about this situation, so I request everyone not to pay attention to rumours. Please cooperate with the police administration, foster love, and maintain a positive atmosphere in the city. This is my humble request to all of you."

The police administration is working to manage the situation, and the Chief Minister is in constant touch with them.
