Some 10 km from Tumkur city, Namada Chilume is a natural water spring located near Devarayana Durga Hills or DD Hills in Tumkur district of Karnataka.

Lore has it that once when Lord Ram wanted to apply tilak (naama) on his forehead, he looked around for water, but could not find any waterbody anywhere. Lord Rama made this water spring by shooting an arrow on the rock and water oozed out. Taking that water, Lord Ram wore tilak (naama) on his forehead. It is said that as a result the spot got the name Namada Chilume (meaning “water of spring”).

What is unique about the waterbody is that it keeps running throughout the year and never dries up.
