Pahalgam Terror Attack LIVE Updates: Amid escalating tensions along LoC after the gruesome Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, PM Modi on Tuesday gave armed forces a free hand to avenge the gruesome killing of 26 tourists at the Baisaran valley in Jammu & Kashmir’s Pahalgam. The rattled Pakistan, anticipating strikes from Indian side, has kept its navy vessels on standby. It has also restricted airspace.

Sources in the country's military establishment said that Pakistani Navy vessels, including its frigates and submarines, have already positioned themselves in their respective harbours in the sea.

The Pakistan Air Force, as per sources, has reduced flying operations by over 50 per cent. To avoid confusion in the airspace, it has only allowed essential operations.

Amid rising tensions and provocations along the International Border (IB) and Line of Control (LoC), Pakistani posts in the Pragwal sector of Jammu have reportedly been left vacant. Additionally, Pakistani Rangers have removed national flags from their IB posts, signaling unusual activity along the Indo-Pak border.

NIA sources have identified Farooq Ahmed, a Lashkar-e-Taiba commander, as the mastermind behind the Pahalgam attack. Hiding in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, Farooq established a network of overground workers aiding Pakistani terrorists. He has been involved in several attacks over the last two years and used encrypted apps to communicate with his network. Farooq’s home was recently demolished by security forces. 

Defence sources confirm that till yesterday morning, Pakistan Army had been violating the ceasefire only along the Line of Control (LoC). However, the situation has now escalated. Last night, Pakistani forces violated the ceasefire along the International Border in the Paragwal sector of Jammu.
