New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has maintained his position as the world's most popular leader, outshining US President Joe Biden and newly appointed UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer. The latest rankings from Morning Consult, based on data from July 8-14, showcase this trend.
Top 10 leaders according to the survey
- Narendra Modi (India) - 69%
- Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador (Mexico) - 63%
- Javier Milei (Argentina) - 60%
- Viola Amherd (Switzerland) - 52%
- Simon Harris (Ireland) - 47%
- Keir Starmer (UK) and Donald Tusk (Poland) - 45%
- Anthony Albanese (Australia) - 42%
- Pedro Sanchez (Spain) and Giorgia Meloni (Italy) - 40%
The survey also reveals that other prominent global leaders have relatively modest approval ratings:
- Joe Biden (US) - 39%
- Justin Trudeau (Canada) - 29%
- Emmanuel Macron (France) - 20%
At the lower end of the scale, Czech Republic Prime Minister Petr Fiala, South Korean President Yoon Suk-Yeol, and Japan's Prime Minister Fumio Kishida are among the least popular. For the unversed, the list is continuously updated to reflect changing public opinions.
PM Modi Most Followed World Leader on X (Formerly Twitter)
Earlier last month, Prime Minister Narendra Modi became the most followed leader in the world on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
When the milestone was reached, PM Modi said on X: “A hundred million on @X! Happy to be on this vibrant medium and cherish the discussion, debate, insights, people’s blessings, constructive criticism and more.” “Looking forward to an equally engaging time in the future as well." PM Modi has 100.6 million followers on X.
