Vision For Limitless India & Response to Cynics | Big Headlines From PM Modi’s 35-Minute Address at Republic Plenary Summit.
New Delhi: At the Republic Plenary Summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a dynamic and visionary address, making it one of the biggest news events of the year. In his 35-minute speech, the Prime Minister outlined his roadmap for a self-reliant, aspirational India, while taking a strong stand against dynasty politics, urban naxalism, corruption, and governance failures of the past. Highlighting India's economic rise, defence exports, and technological advancements, PM Modi stressed meritocracy, youth empowerment, and transparency.
The Republic Plenary Summit once again proved to be a powerful platform, setting the national agenda and reaffirming India's global leadership under PM Modi’s vision.
PM Modi's Bold Push to End Dynasty Politics
PM Modi unveiled his ambitious plan to bring 1 lakh first-generation politicians into the system, eliminating the dominance of dynasty politics. “This is my mission. I am laying the groundwork for it,” he declared, emphasizing that merit, not lineage, should drive governance. He stated that by 2029, a new generation of voters would have no memory of the corruption scandals that plagued India before 2014, reinforcing his push for clean and transparent governance.
India’s Economic Rise: From Past Struggles to Global Power
Highlighting India’s meteoric rise, PM Modi pointed out that 18 years ago, India's annual GDP was $1 trillion, whereas today, the same economic activity occurs every three months. He also recalled that until 2014, India was the 11th largest economy, but in the last decade, it has surged to 5th place and is on track to become the 3rd largest economy soon.
From Imports to Atmanirbharta: A Decade of Transformation
At the Republic Plenary Summit, PM Modi underscored India’s self-reliance journey, citing major achievements. Take a look below:-
- Defence exports have grown 20 times, from being a major arms importer to becoming a global exporter.
- Solar energy capacity has increased 30 times, placing India among the top five nations in the sector.
- Toy exports have tripled, ending reliance on foreign markets.
- Steel production and mobile manufacturing have made India the world’s second-largest producer.
- Startup ecosystem skyrocketed, making India the third-largest globally.
Direct Benefit Transfer: From 15 Paisa to 100% Transparency
Recalling past governance failures, PM Modi slammed the Congress era when only 15 paisa out of every rupee reached the poor, with the rest lost to corruption. In contrast, he said, “Today, when ₹1 leaves Delhi, 100 paisa reaches the last mile.” Over the last decade, ₹42 lakh crore has been transferred directly to beneficiaries, ensuring transparency and eliminating middlemen.
Changing Aspirations: From Stoppages to Vande Bharat Trains
PM Modi spoke of how India’s mindset has transformed, contrasting past aspirations with today’s ambitions. He recalled how people once requested train stoppages, but now they demand Vande Bharat trains in their regions. He attributed this shift to India’s new spirit of innovation and progress.
The Youth Factor: Driving India’s Future
Calling the youth the X-factor of India’s growth, PM Modi emphasized that experimentation, excellence, and expansion are fueling the country’s rapid progress. He highlighted that under his leadership, barriers restricting young entrepreneurs and professionals have been removed, unlocking their true potential.
'Naxalism Fading from Jungles, But Taking Root in Cities'
Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted that while Naxalism is being eradicated from the jungles, it is now gaining ground in urban areas, with some political parties adopting its ideology.
"Naxalism in the country is on its last legs. In the past, over 100 districts were severely affected by this menace. However, this number has drastically reduced to just around two dozen districts today," PM Modi said, crediting the government’s focus on grassroots governance for this achievement.
However, he warned of a growing challenge as Naxal influence shifts to urban centres. "While Naxalism is steadily being eradicated from jungles due to decisive actions, it is beginning to spread its roots into urban centres, presenting a new challenge," he noted.
Taking a veiled dig at the Congress, PM Modi remarked, "Urban Naxals have cast their net so fast that a political party that opposed urban Naxals, was inspired by the thoughts of Gandhiji, and had its pulse on the people, is now echoing their views." He further said, "Urban Naxals have entrenched themselves in such political parties. Today, we can hear the voices of urban Naxals in these political parties. We can imagine how deep their roots go."
‘Congress Crushed People's Aspirations’
PM Modi also targeted the Congress, accusing it of suppressing the aspirations of the people, which led to a lack of hope for change. He contrasted this with the transformation under his government.
"Today's India thinks big, sets big targets and delivers big results. It is because the mentality of the country has changed. The country is moving ahead with big aspirations," he said, emphasizing the shift in national outlook over the past decade.
A Century of India on the Global Stage
PM Modi ended his address with a powerful statement: “The world is saying this is India’s century. Haven’t you heard?” He noted that India, once dismissed as a struggling nation, is now a driving force of global growth, delivering remarkable achievements in every sector.
With a clear roadmap for the future, PM Modi’s speech at the Republic Plenary Summit reaffirmed his commitment to nation-first governance, economic transformation, and a future shaped by India’s youth.
