Pune: A rape case of 26-year-old woman has surfaced in Maharashtra ’s Pune city, raising serious concerns over women’s safety. The incident took place inside a parked bus at Swargate ST stand in the early hours on Tuesday. What is more shocking here is that the crime scene was just a few meters away from the Swargate Police station, which shows that the criminal had no fear of being caught.

According to police, the woman, who works as a counsellor at a hospital, was raped when she was going home post work. The incident took place when the victim, a resident of Aundh-Baner area, was waiting for a bus to go home in Phaltan, Satara after completing her duty, at the Swargate ST stand.

The accused, who noticed the woman, told her that the bus she was waiting for had arrived at another platform and misled her to that location.

Sensing something suspicious, the woman when reached at another platform asked him about other passengers, since the area seemed deserted. The accused lied her saying they were inside.

The woman trusted the accused and went inside a parked Shiv Shahi AC bus. As soon as she went inside, the accused locked and raped her.

Rape took place in front of security cabin
