Suvendu Adhikari was also spotted arriving at Delhi airport earlier in the day.  This meeting comes amid growing speculation of a possible split within the TMC, as rebel leaders intensify their outreach to BJP leadership in the national capital.

According to the sources, several Trinamool Congress (TMC) MPs are currently in a meeting with BJP leaders in Delhi, including Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar (Barasat), Prasun Banerjee (Howrah), Satabdi Roy (Birbhum), Asit Mal (Birbhum), Bapi Haldar (Mathurapur), June Malia (Medinipur), Jagadish Basunia (Cooch Behar), Kalipada Soren (Jhargram), Arup Chakraborty (Bankura), Partha Bhowmick (Barrackpore), and Sharmila Sarkar (Bardhaman Purba). In addition, discussions have already been held with Rachana Banerjee (Hooghly), Yusuf Pathan (Baharampur), Dev Adhikari (Ghatal), and Shatrughan Sinha (Asansol), even though they were not present at the meeting.

In another setback for the Trinamool Congress, former MP Sukhendu Shekhar Ray has broken his silence after quitting the party, launching a sharp attack on its leadership. He accused senior ministers, councillors, and panchayat leaders of becoming increasingly inaccessible over the past fifteen years, creating a disconnect with ordinary voters. Ray noted that despite record voter turnout in Bengal, the party failed to conduct any meaningful review of its performance, further alienating the public.

Ray went on to allege that corruption and criminal elements had taken over the organisation, sidelining grassroots workers who had built the TMC through years of struggle. He claimed that “unscrupulous elements” rose to prominence while local leaders flaunted wealth through lavish homes and luxury possessions. Citing the RG Kar Medical College rape and murder case, Ray said the party’s inability to respond to public outrage over such incidents was the final trigger for its downfall. He called for a forensic audit to expose the scale of corruption and mismanagement within the party.
