USAID Row: The Enforcement Directorate is considering its options on how to initiate an investigation into allegations regarding the United States Agency for International Development's (USAID) funding, which allegedly aimed to influence the elections in India during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

The Indian government has vowed to launch a formal investigation into these claims after US President Donald Trump and Tesla CEO Elon Musk revealed a list of USAID funding, which reportedly mentioned $21 million allocated to India for 'voter turnout' initiatives.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has raised concerns following these revelations. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has triggered a political controversy, accusing Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of being behind the matter and labeling him a traitor. The BJP has also accused the Gandhi family of allegedly colluding with financier George Soros to undermine Indian democracy and sovereignty, out of hatred toward Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Jaishankar expresses concern over USAID activities in India

On USAID, EAM S Jaishankar says, "...Some information has been put out there by the Trump administration people, and obviously, that is concerning... I think, as a government, we're looking into it. My sense is that the facts will come out...USAID was allowed here in good faith, to do good faith activities; now, suggestions are being laid out from America that there are activities which are in bad faith. It's worrisome, and if there's something to it, then the country should know who the people are involved in it."

BJP Social Media Chief Names Indian Express Group As Omidyar Beneficiary

BJP I-T cell head Amit Malviya has accused the Omidyar Network of funding events in India despite claiming to cease operations. In his tweet on X, Malviya questioned the Indian Express for not disclosing links to Omidyar. Malviya wrote, “Omidyar is part of USAID’s Finance and Investment Network and has also been funded by George Soros’ Open Society Foundation—a fact acknowledged on both organisations’ websites."

The connection of Omidyar Network with George Soros' Open Society Foundation which is an alleged part of US Deep State and USAID are in question because both the organisations have been accused by the Modi government of interfering in India's internal affairs, creating political unrest, fuelling protests, spreading anarchy and going up to an extent of even regime change.
