Suvendu Adhikari Expands Bengal Cabinet: Full List of 35 Ministers Inducted

The West Bengal government entered a new phase of governance on Monday as 35 ministers were formally inducted into Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari’s administration. The oath-taking ceremony, held at Lok Bhavan, was conducted by Governor R.N. Ravi, who administered the oath of office to the new appointees. With this expansion, the Council of Ministers now stands at 41, marking one of the largest reshuffles in recent years aimed at strengthening administrative capacity across departments.  

The expansion brought together a diverse mix of experienced leaders and emerging voices, reflecting the government’s strategy to balance continuity with fresh perspectives. The induction included 13 Cabinet Ministers, 3 Ministers of State with Independent Charge, and 19 Ministers of State, each entrusted with responsibilities that will shape the state’s policy direction in the months ahead.

Speaking on the ceremony, BJP MLA Arjun Singh, one of the newly sworn-in cabinet ministers, emphasised his readiness to shoulder fresh responsibilities. “I always take on new responsibilities and strive to fulfil them. Whatever the government wants, the party wants, or the people want, we must rise to the occasion, that is our priority,” he said.  

Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari, in a post on X ahead of the ceremony, described the expansion as the formation of the “full cabinet of the democratically elected Nationalist State Government of West Bengal,” reaffirming his administration’s commitment to transparency and public welfare.  

The ceremony at Lok Bhavan marks a pivotal moment in West Bengal’s political calendar, with portfolios expected to be allocated soon. The expanded cabinet is poised to play a decisive role in addressing governance challenges and meeting the aspirations of the people across the state.
