Who is Baljinder Singh? Punjab Pastor Seen in Viral ‘Yeshu Yeshu’ Videos Faces Sexual Harassment Case

New Delhi: Punjab ’s self-proclaimed priest, Baljinder Singh, popular for his Yeshu Yeshu video, has been accused of sexual harassment by a 22-year-old woman in Kapurthala, Punjab, on Sunday.  

The woman has accused Baljinder Singh of inappropriately touching her and making unwanted advances while she worked for him at the age of 17.  

The pastor has denied the allegations, claiming that another pastor planned a “scandal” against him.  

Born into a Jat family in Haryana ’s Yamunanagar, Baljinder Singh converted to Christianity a decade ago.  

He rose to fame after claiming to perform miracle healings for his followers and attracting a considerable audience through his ministry, the Church of Glory and Wisdom. His ministry operates several branches in Punjab and other locations.  

The viral pastor is known for holding large prayer meetings, often accompanied by public performances. Videos of him miraculously ‘healing’ “possessed” individuals or people suffering from illnesses have surfaced on the internet. One particular video, in which his devotees sing "Yeshu Yeshu",has left the internet in splits.  

Baljinder Singh's Dark Past

This is not the first time Baljinder Singh has come under fire. In the early 2000s, he was arrested in connection with a murder.  

In 2018, Singh was arrested for allegedly raping a woman from Zirakpur, Punjab, under the pretext of offering her travel opportunities.  

The victim was reportedly assaulted by the pastor in his house in Chandigarh, where he also recorded a video to threaten her.  

Several other families have accused him of deceiving vulnerable people through financial fraud, including demanding large sums of money for healing services that allegedly did not produce results.  

Despite these controversies, the pastor enjoys significant influence in the Christian community and Punjab.
