New Delhi: Union Minister for Food Processing Industries and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) president Chirag Paswan on Tuesday received a death threat through a letter delivered by post, according to reports. The letter warned that he would be “killed shortly by hardcore terrorists.”

The Minister’s office has formally written to Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, bringing the threat to the notice of the Ministry of Home Affairs and seeking appropriate action, reports said.

The letter has reportedly been received at the minister’s office and its contents have been shared with the Home Ministry for necessary security measures and investigation. No further details about the sender or the origin of the letter were immediately available.
