August Long Weekends 2024: In August, there will be two long weekends due to national holidays and festivals. The upcoming holidays, from Independence Day to Raksha Bandhan, will contribute to these long weekends.

Long Weekends in August 2024: 

1. Independence Day and Raksha Bandhan Break:

August 15, Thursday, : Independence Day and Parsi New Year (Gazetted Holiday)

August 16, Friday, : Take a day off

August 17, Saturday, : Weekend

August 18, Sunday, : Weekend

August 19, Monday, : Raksha Bandhan

Enjoy a 5-day break from August 15 to August 19.

2. Janmashtami Weekend :

August 24 Saturday : Weekend

August 25 Sunday : Weekend

August 26 Monday : Janmashtami

According to the RBI’s bank holiday list for 2024, banks will be closed for three days between August 15 and August 19: August 15 (Independence Day), August 18 (Sunday), and August 19 (Raksha Bandhan). Additionally, banks will be closed on August 13 in Manipur

Bank Holidays in August 2024:

August 13: Banks to remain closed in Manipur on account of ‘Patriot’s Day’.

August 15: All banks in India across states remain closed on account of Independence Day.

August 19: Banks will remain closed in Tripura, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Himachal Pradesh.

August 20: Banks will be closed in Kerala on account of ‘Sree Narayana Guru Jayanthi’.

August 26: Banks are closed in Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Chandigarh, Odisha, Uttarakhand, Telangana, Sikkim, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Rajasthan, Jammu & Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Meghalaya, Himachal Pradesh and Srinagar.

However, you can still handle transactions and manage your banking tasks online, even during bank holidays. Online banking and ATMs will be available, so you can carry out many activities through mobile or internet banking
