New Delhi: Residents of Delhi should prepare for a temporary disruption in water supply as the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) has announced maintenance work scheduled for March 8-9, 2025. This maintenance will affect several areas, including Malviya Nagar, Greater Kailash-1, and other localities. The DJB has urged residents to store sufficient quantities of water in advance to mitigate the inconvenience.

It also said that the water pressure in these areas would be lower than usual on Monday and Tuesday, March 10 and 11 affecting some of these areas in Delhi.

The water supply cut will impact the following areas:
- Malviya Nagar
- Greater Kailash-1
- Mehrauli
- Green Park
- Munirka
- Dakshin Puri
- Panchsheel
- Pushp Vihar
- Panchsheel Enclave
- Janakpuri
- Rohini
- Mangolpuri
- Sultanpuri
Reason for Disruption
The DJB has stated that the disruption is due to the annual maintenance and flushing of the Underground Reservoir and Booster Pumping Station. This essential maintenance work is necessary to ensure the efficient functioning of the water supply system and to prevent any long-term issues.

To assist residents during this period, the DJB has assured that water tankers will be available upon request through emergency services. Residents can contact the DJB's Central Control Room at 1916 or 011-66587300 for assistance. Additionally, the DJB has shared contact numbers for specific areas in case of water emergencies:

Public Advisory
The DJB has advised residents to store sufficient quantities of water in advance to meet their needs during the maintenance period.
