Chef Saransh Golia revealed to a leading media portal that he came up with the famous butter chicken dish by accident. Here are more details about the chef.
A lot of the new-age Indian Chefs are making Indian cuisines globally famous. Saransh Golia is one of them. He is the founder of a popular restaurant ‘Golia Butter Chicken’ that is based in Mumbai. He is also the author of the acclaimed food travelogue ‘India on My Platter’. Saransh told a leading media channel that the dish of butter chicken, which is called the best in the world by chef George Calombaris, was accidentally discovered by him.
Who is Saransh Golia?
Saransh Golia is a 32-year-old chef. He grew up in Pitampura, Delhi. From a very young age, he had an inclination towards cooking. By the age of twelve, he started experimenting and cooking in the kitchen. Soon, he started cooking well and wanted to pursue a career in either acting or cooking. He completed his studies from IHM- Aurangabad.
His journey through the culinary world
After completing his professional studies, Chef Saransh wanted to try something different. While talking to a leading media portal, Chef Saransh revealed that he wanted to be on television in order to teach cooking. After many failed attempts, he secured a spot as a contestant on Madhuri Dixit’s comeback show, Food Food Maha Challenge, which was being hosted by chef Sanjeev Kapoor. Chef Saransh Golia went on to win the show. Eventually, he got his own show, called Roti Rasta Aur India.
The famous Golia Butter Chicken
Chef Saransh Golia is well known for his famous dish Goila Butter Chicken. Chef Saransh Golia revealed to a leading media portal that he came up with the famous butter chicken dish by accident. He said that he wanted to make a dish that tastes exactly like butter chicken but doesn’t have chicken in it. He had this concept as he wanted his vegetarian parents to be able to taste it. When his friends in Mumbai first ate it when he moved to Mumbai, they loved it so much that they started a Twitter hashtag, #GoilaButterChicken. This soon became his signature dish, which he started serving through his outlets and pop-ups, and was also seen on the epic TV show, MasterChef Australia.
