New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his powerful address at the Republic Plenary Summit 2025- The Limitless India on Thursday highlighted the government's transformative efforts in improving the lives of the poor by providing them with more than just basic infrastructure through Ujjwala Yojana and Saubhagya Yojana.

Speaking as the chief guest in the mega event, PM Modi reflected on the remarkable shift in the housing and welfare schemes under his leadership, emphasizing how the government's policies have gone beyond merely constructing homes.

'More Than Just Homes, We Have Built Lives': PM Modi

At the Republic Plenary Summit 2025—Limitless India, PM Modi said "First, bricks and stones were used to build half-empty houses. We have made the poor a home of their dreams. These homes have water coming from the tap, a gas connection for the Ujjwala Yojana, and electricity for the Saubhagya Yojana."

Further highlighting the holistic approach, PM Modi stressed that the government’s mission was not just to build houses but to create a sense of belonging. "We have not only built four walls, we have built a life in those houses," he remarked, showcasing the impact of these initiatives on families that previously lived in poverty-stricken conditions.

PM Modi's speech comes as part of the government's ongoing efforts to ensure that underprivileged sections of society, particularly in rural areas, have access to basic amenities and quality housing.

The Ujjwala Yojana, which provides free LPG connections to women from Below Poverty Line (BPL) families, and the Saubhagya Yojana, which seeks to provide electricity to all households, have been cornerstones of the government's push towards inclusive growth.

PM Modi's Vision to End Dynasty Politics

PM Modi on Thursday spoke of bringing Indian youths into politics and those youngsters should be first-timers in their family to be involved in politics.

Prime Minister Modi said, “I want to bring 1 lakh youngsters into politics,” and noted that the youth “should be first-timer in their family to get into politics.”

“Youngsters don't know what the headlines of the newspapers used to be prior to 2014. There used to be scams amounting to Rs 10-12 lakh crore.” PM Modi added.
