Debate With Arnab: ‘Democracy In Danger’ Lobby Shaken As Trump Praises India’s Electoral System?

US President Donald Trump has cited India’s election system and voter-ID process while urging Congress to pass the proposed SAVE America Act. Referring to Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, Trump said India’s last general election had 646 million voters, with less than 1% voting by mail, and claimed every voter used valid photo identification.

Trump’s remarks have triggered a fresh political confrontation in India, where opposition parties have repeatedly raised concerns over EVMs, voter lists and electoral transparency. Congress leader Pawan Khera responded sarcastically, saying the CEC and EVMs could be sent to the US.
