Debate With Arnab: A JNU professor who is also a sitting Congress MP is under scrutiny after multiple students made sexual-harassment complaints. The focus is now on the university’s Internal Complaints Committee inquiry, the role of campus authorities and questions over accountability.

JNU Vice-Chancellor Santishree Dhulipudi Pandit has confirmed that several students have come forward and that the ICC investigation is underway. She said the university has a zero-tolerance policy towards sexual predation, while stressing that the confidential inquiry must hear both sides before reaching any conclusion.

The Delhi Commission for Women has also taken suo motu cognisance and sought a detailed action-taken report from JNU. The professor has denied the allegations. No ICC findings have been made public, and the claims remain unproven pending the university’s inquiry.
