Australian international cricketer and fast bowling legend Brett Lee, in an exclusive interview with Republic Media Network, discussed the ongoing Champion Trophy and said, “ It will be tough to beat India.” The cricketer, renowned for his expertise in all formats of the game, shared his thoughts on the fierce competition in the tournament, emphasizing India's exceptional form.
He lauded Virat Kohli ’s return to form, stating, "Virat Kohli is getting 100. It's brilliant to see him back amongst the runs." His performance has been instrumental in India’s strong showing so far. Despite Australia's commendable efforts in the absence of key players like Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc, the cricketer admitted, "It’s going to be hard to beat India," acknowledging their all-around strength and the challenges facing other teams.
The cricketer also acknowledged the tremendous effort of the Australian team, despite missing key players like Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc. "Australia has done a good job," he said, noting that despite being "a couple of bowlers down," the team had remained competitive. However, when asked about the competition, he admitted that conditions and India's current form would make it difficult for other teams to overcome them.
When asked whether he would back India or Australia, the cricketer, a proud Australian, found it difficult to answer directly but admitted, "Do I want India to beat Australia? I'm very patriotic." Nonetheless, he acknowledged that India, with their current momentum, is a serious contender for the title. "I think they’ll probably do it," he added.

He pointed out Mitch Santner’s superb bowling for New Zealand and Afghanistan's stunning victory over England, saying, "Afghanistan played some amazing brand of cricket the other evening to knock England out of the tournament."
