Gambhir was reunited with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) earlier this year after he spent a 2 seasons mentoring Luckown Super Giants (LSG), and had a great run this season. After ten years, KKR claimed the IPL trophy under his mentorship.
Along with the rest of the team management, Gambhir's contributions were crucial in KKR's IPL 2024 win, therefore securing the head coach post for Team India. Starting with the forthcoming trip of Sri Lanka later this month, he will assume his new responsibility.
