Delhi Capitals (DC) star opening batter Prithvi Shaw took to social media on May 8 to confirm that he has been admitted to the hospital and is recovering from fever. The 22-year-old missed DC's last game against the SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH), with Mandeep Singh opening the batting.

Prithvi Shaw took to his official Instagram account on Sunday and posted an image of himself in the hospital with the caption: "Admitted in hospital & recovering from fever. Thank u all for your good wishes. Will be back in action soon." Due to his hospitalisation, he will also miss Delhi Capitals' clash against the Chennai Super Kings on May 8.
The Rishabh Pant-led side will miss the services of Shaw, who has had a fantastic IPL 2022 campaign so far. The youngster has scored 259 runs in nine matches, with the highest score of 61. He has also smacked two fifties this campaign and has a decent average of 28.78, alongside a strike rate of 159.88.
