Harry Brook pens heartfelt note after getting released by Sunrisers Hyderabad

Sunrisers Hyderabad didn't have the most anticipated IPL last season. Having won only four matches in the entire campaign the southern giants finished last in the points table and will hope for a turnaround in IPL 2024. Ahead of the IPL 2024 auction, SRH have released a whole lot of players in order to form a new core which could enable them to bring more success in the coming years.

SRH released Harry Brook ahead of IPL 2024 auction

SRH opted to get rid of Harry Brook who has been touted as the next big thing in England cricket. AT a staggering 13.25 crore Brook was Sunrisers' highest purchase in the IPL 2023 auction. But the burden to bear that kind of hefty price tag proved too much for him as he could only manage 190 runs in 11 IPL matches which also included a massive hundred for him. This was Brook's maiden IPL season and he will now join the IPL 2024 auction which is likely to be held next month.

The England youngster took the opportunity to thank the franchise for letting him express his talent on such a bigger platform. He posted on X, Thank you to everyone @SunRisers for giving me my first opportunity in the @IPL. Some fantastic people in the franchise and a great set of fans. Wishing them all the best for the future.

Brook will now enter the auction and the 24 year old does have the credentials to be one of the successful batters in this format. His flexibility in the batting order could be the biggest asset for any team and it remains to be seen whether SRH come back for him to pick him at a much lesser price.
