MS Dhoni May Feature in IPL 2025 For Chennai Super Kings. Here's HOW

There is much speculation over former India captain MS Dhoni will feature in IPL 2025 as a player or not. While most believe he is done, a fresh report suggests that it may not be all over for Dhoni. A few days back, a report claimed that Chennai Super Kings may be interested in his services as a player only if he is put in the ‘Uncapped’ category. Now, it seems fans would have their way, as a report on CricketNext claims that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is going to bring back the rule which puts the players retired from International cricket for at least 5 years in the "Uncapped" category. If this happens, there is a high possibility Dhoni may enthrall the fans again in IPL 2025.

Dhoni, the BEAST, in IPL

The stalwart has featured in 264 IPL games and has led Chennai to the title on five occasions. His contribution with the bat has been remarkable as well. In 264 games, he has amassed 5243 runs at an average of 39.13.

On the occasion of India's 78th Independence Day, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli lavished praise on Dhoni. Both the cricketers spoke about how Dhoni helped them in their respective journeys. 

Over the years, Dhoni's sheer presence has drawn in the crowds and he is treated like a demi-god in Chennai. While fans would be hoping to see Dhoni play again in IPL 2025, one understands it will be a decision taken by the former CSK captain taking his knee condition into account. Throughout IPL 2024, Dhoni was seen having problems with his knee.
