During an appearance on the ICC Review, Ravi Shastri picked up Yashasvi Jaiswal as the star attraction from Team India when they clash against Australia in the upcoming Border Gavaskar Trophy. He predicted the southpaw Indian opener to stand up to the occasion against the Australian bowling arsenal. He also deemed the young cricketer as an entertainer as he has the ability to score big numbers.

"Jaiswal at the top because if he gets in, he can be devastating. You know he plays spin very well, he plays at his own tempo, he's got all the shots in the book.

"He's an entertainer, so if he gets in as we've seen in his career already, you know he has the ability to get the big scores. You don't hit two consecutive double hundreds, you know, just like that, you've got to have the hunger, you have to have the quality and the ability," Ravi Shastri said.

Team India pacer Jasprit Bumrah is another well-known name that Ravi Shastri believes will shine against the Aussies as the former cricketer believes he is the world's best fast bowler.

"I think Jasprit, no question. Because he's the best fast bowler in the world. There's no question about that. These are the top two bowlers who are on either side. And you'd expect him at this stage of his career, where at times he makes the ball talk, to be the highest wicket-taker," Shastri added.

Jasprit Bumrah will be leading Team India in the absence of primary skipper Rohit Sharma as he stayed back in India to welcome a baby boy to his family. Team India is all set to lock horns against Australia in the first test match, which is all set to happen in Perth at the Optus Stadium, starting November 22, 2024.
