Shane Warne's tragic death brought a lot of sadness to the cricketing world in March last year. The Australian legend passed away while vacationing in Thailand. It emerged later that Warne's demise was caused due to a cardiac arrest. He was 52 years old at the time of his death.

Shane Warne's family makes big revelation about his death

Shane Warne's passing away brought in a revolution as following his death the rate of heart checkups has gone up a few notch. In the wake of Warne's demise, his three children Brooke, Summer and Jackson have come up with an initiative wherein they have vouched to provide free heart checkups for Australian citizens over 40 years old. 

Shane Warne's family believes the legendary Australian leg spinner could have been alive had he taken a heart checkup at the right time.

In a statement jointly issued by his three children they reiterated their desire to help all the needy families with their resources.

"We believe if dad had taken one of these tests, he might still be with us today. We don’t want any family to endure the heartache we’ve faced and sadly, millions of others have faced, and dad wouldn’t want that either.”

Shane Warne's parents also backed the noble initiative 

Shane Warne's parents also reflected on the need for a heart check-up. “When we reflect on Shane’s passing in March 2022, we can’t help but wonder if a heart test might have revealed an issue, allowing him to take preventive measures.

“The first initiative of the Legacy strives to offer others this crucial opportunity, sparing their loved ones the heart-wrenching anguish of a sudden loss. Providing this chance to other families is a source of immense pride for us, hoping they don’t endure the same fate we have.”

The charity which is run by his family will collect funds by selling hats in the summer. The Southern Stand of MCG has also been renamed the Shane Warne Stand as a tribute to the legendary leg spinner.
