Virat Kohli, who is arguably the best batter of the generation, won the best ODI batter of the year in CEAT Cricket awards on Wednesday night in Mumbai, but he was not there to receive the silverware. So, where was Kohli? The premier India batter is currently on a break and is in London. Kohli was part of the ODI leg versus Sri Lanka. He is currently not part of the Duleep Trophy squads as well. Over the past week, Kohli has been spotted on a number of occasions in the UK with his family. Kohli bagged the ODI batter of the year because of his stupendous display of batsmanship throughout the season.

Kohli in ODIs in 2023
Kohli amassed 1,377 runs in ODIs in 2023 at a staggering average of 72.47 and a strike rate of 99.13 in 24 outings. That included six centuries and eight fifties. He was in sublime touch during the 2023 ODI World Cup as well. In the ODI WC, he was the leading run-scorer with 765 runs at an average of 95.62. Kohli is also the recipient of the ICC Men's ODI Player of the Year. Kohli also played a big role in India's Asia Cup 2023 triumph, scoring an unbeaten 122* in 94 balls against arch-rivals Pakistan in a crucial Super Four stage game.

What's Next For Kohli?
In all probability, he would next be seen playing the Test series against Bangladesh. He would be an integral part of the side in that series. The former India captain would also be the main man for the side when India take on New Zealand and Australia later in the year.
